At the Museum MMK für Moderne Kunst, there’s a great seating option: a long red built-in couch with many seats. The couch faces away from the gallery spaces and toward a set of frosted windows you can’t actually see through. I kept thinking about the experience of having a really good place to rest paired with absolutely nothing to look at.

I made this audio prompt to gather people’s experiences with the couch. It asks visitors to go to the second floor, sit on the red couch, look through the window, and describe the view.
