Painted Tissue Box Covers
About:
A set of hand-sewn painted tissue box covers. I continue to be interested in tissue boxes as objects related to disability and debility and as a tool for gifting something material in the context of an exhibition (in this case, limitless tissues). The six fabric covers have hand-lettered text:
Big loss / Small softness
Big sadness / Small comfort
Big catastrophe / Small tool
Big depression / Small pleasure
Big disconnection / Small kinship
Big absence / Small presenceCommissioned by Montclair State University for The Backend.
