Reset Rooms
About:
Reset Rooms was made during a residency at MCA Denver in partnership with students at GALS High School. We started by talking about how ableist systems influence the way people experience physical spaces and who gets to decide what is “appropriate” behavior for public spaces. The students brought up the “Reset Room” — a space at their school that teachers encourage students to visit when they are feeling overwhelmed by emotions. Each student then created their own redesign of the reset room at MCA Denver. Each is a multi-sensory space tailored to a specific feeling or mood.Year: 2020
